Denmark will face Northern Ireland and Lithuania in two friendlies in June within the space of three days that is set to make the Danish national team ready for the World Cup qualifying campaign in the fall.

On 7 June Denmark will go head-to-head with Northern Ireland in Copenhagen before Lithuania visit Odense on 10 June, says the Danish FA on their website.

The two test matches are designed to get the national team ready for the World Cup qualifying campain against  Greece, Scotland and Belarus starting in September.

"First of all, we must continue the great development of our team and the aggressive approach that the players adopted so well in the two games against Portugal."

"At the same time, it can also provide an opportunity to test different things against different opponents than we have met in the last four games, and it is a good starting point for the World Cup qualification", says Brian Riemer to the Danish FA.

It has been difficult to find the right time to host the matches as most other countries are busy with World Cup qualifiers and others are still playing Nations League football.

For the first time since 2014 the Danish men's national team will play in Odense.

"We represent the entire Danish national team, and therefore we are very much looking forward to playing a match in Odense and showing off the team in front of the Danish fans on Funen", ends Brian Riemer.
