Thierry Henry has dropped a major hint over who could succeed Didier Deschamps as France manager, with the World Cup-winning coach expected to step aside after 2026.

Deschamps, 55, will step down as manager of the France national team after the 2026 World Cup having spent 13 years in the job.

His impressive time at the helm reached its crescendo in 2018 as France won the World Cup, beating Croatia 4-2 in the final.

It is widely expected that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will take over from Deschamps once he finally calls it a day, although it is yet to be confirmed by any party.

Speaking in a CBS press conference, Arsenal legend Henry suggested he already knew who would take over next summer.

"We all know who the new manager will be. You know it, I know it, and I wish him all the best," he said.
