Alexander Ovechkin (39) scored the first and last goal of Game 1 during the Capitals' Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night.
This marks Ovechkin's first-ever Stanley Cup Playoffs overtime goal and it came at the perfect time to give the Caps the 3-2 win in Game 1.
Ovechkin scored the first goal of the game from his office during a Capitals power play.
The game saw over 120 shots with almost 70 of them shot on goal along with a combined 75 hits between both teams.
After the Caps went up 2-0, the Habs fought back to tie it up with a pair of goals in the third period courtesy of Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
But the Caps proved to be the victors in the end thanks to the legend himself.
Game 2 between the Washington Capitals vs. Montreal Canadiens will take place on Wednesday, April 23rd.
