Dutch tennis player Tallon Griekspoor fired coach Dennis Sporrel just three months after hiring the former professional.

Sporrel is the second coach Griekspoor has fired in the past month. Belgian former professional Xavier Malisse joined Griekspoor's team in April, but was fired a week-and-a-half later. "It has been hugely disappointing from my side. I expected more from it," said Griekspoor.

According to the coach, Sporrel and Griekspoor both concluded that the cooperation "did not work anymore. We've had nice months together, and I am grateful for that."

Sporrel joined Griekspoor in February following the departure of Griekspoor's former coach, Kristof Vliegen, in October. With the former Dutch tennis association coach on his staff, Griekspoor made the quarter-finals at Indian Wells. However, he was eliminated in the first two rounds of the ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in Monte Carlo, Madrid, and Rome.

Following Sporrel's departure, Griekspoor said he will "do it on his own for a while" as he prepares for the French Open, which will start in two weeks.
