The second week of Roland Garros has arrived, with fourth-round action getting underway after what has been an incredible tournament full of shocks and blockbuster matches.

19:05 CET - Mirra Andreeva is through to the quarter-finals at Roland Garros for the third year in a row after an accomplished straight-sets victory against Jil Teichmann.

18:15 CET - Alexander Zverev has further cemented his position as the favourite for his first Grand Slam title after dispatching Jesper De Jong in straight sets and just over two hours. Aside from a first-set tiebreak where Zverev was made to work, the world number three wasn't tested and always looked in control.

It will take a big performance from one of the young pretenders, perhaps, to steal the crown off Zverev at Roland Garros in 2026.

17:37 CET - One of the emerging favourites to win this year's French Open is exciting teenager Rafael Jodar, but for a good while this afternoon, it looked as if he might be heading out!

The 19-year-old went two down against fellow Spaniard and a veteran on the ATP tour, Pablo Carreno-Busta. Jodar had raced into an early break of serve, but his game deserted him for the rest of the first set after that and the entire second set.

However, he raised his game again at the crucial stage to take the third and fourth sets before outclassing a fatigued Carreno-Busta in the decider. That confirms Jodar's place in the quarter-finals in just his second Grand Slam.

15:20 CET - A battling performance from Elina Svitolina has seen her into the quarter-finals after a three-set victory over Belinda Bencic.

The winner in Rome before Roland Garros, Svitolina ran away with the contest towards the end, prevailing 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

She will now face compatriot Marta Kostyuk for a place in the final four.

13:06 CET - Sorana Cirstea continues her incredible farewell tour! The 36-year-old, who has said this is her last year on tour, has defeated Xiyu Wang 6-3, 7-6(4), moving into the quarter-finals.

She is back into the last eight at Roland Garros for the first time since 2009! A remarkable achievement for the Romanian, and she is arguably playing the best tennis of her career.

She will face the winner of Mirra Andreeva vs Jil Teichmann, who play a little later today.

12:48 CET - Marta Kostyuk has dumped four-time champion Iga Swiatek out of Roland Garros!

The Ukrainian, who is unbeaten on clay this season, winning titles in Rouen and Madrid, clinched a seesaw opening set before steamrolling Swiatek in the second to win 7-5, 6-1. She played ultra-aggressively from the off, hitting 25 winners, aiming to make the Pole uncomfortable.

It is a huge result for Kostyuk, and she is a real contender to win her first Grand Slam title. Her improvement has been for all to see this year, and at 23 years old, she is only going to get better. She is into a maiden French Open quarter-final.

More disappointment for Swiatek, though, whose struggles continue. She put in an extremely poor performance today, making 39 unforced errors and hitting only 13 winners. She has now gone two years without winning a tournament on clay - a surface she used to absolutely dominate. Back to the drawing board for her.

11:05 CET - We are minutes away from the start of play in Paris, and you can follow all the action live with us!

Keep up to date with the men's matches here, and the women's here.

09:00 CET - Good morning and welcome to the second week of the French Open, and things are about to get serious.

It has been a tournament full of marathon contests under the blistering heat, shock results, top seeds getting dumped out, and we are now getting closer to finding out our last eight players on both the men's and women's sides of the draw.

After a week that saw temperatures hit the mid to high 30s, Paris has finally cooled down, and we could even see some rain over the next seven days!

Play gets underway in two hours, and up first on Philippe-Chatrier is a mouthwatering contest between four-time Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek and the in-form Marta Kostyuk.

Kostyuk is on a 15-match winning streak on the clay, clinching titles in Rouen and Madrid. Swiatek leads the head-to-head 3-0, but they have never played on the dirt before, and Kostyuk is playing the best tennis of her career. Hopefully it's a cracker.

That is followed by another in-form Ukrainian, Elina Svitolina, as she takes on fellow mother, Belinda Bencic! The former is coming off the back of winning the Rome title and has won their last four meetings.

Alexander Zverev follows them, and he faces lucky loser and surprise package Jesper de Jong. With Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic tumbling out of the tournament, the pressure is on Zverev, who is the firm favourite to finally cross the final hurdle and win a maiden Grand Slam.

Finally, the match of the day headlines the evening session, as another big favourite to win the title, two-time finalist Casper Ruud, meets Djokovic's conqueror, Joao Fonseca

They have never played each other before, and after some of the marathons both players have been involved in, it'll be interesting to see how much they have left in the tank.

Over on Suzanne-Lenglen, the high-flying Sorana Cirstea meets Wang Xiyu in the opening encounter on that court. Despite being 36 and announcing that this is her last year on tour, Cirstea is playing the best tennis of her career! She won her last match 6-0, 6-0! Surely she has another year in her...

An all-Spanish affair then sees 19-year-old rising superstar Rafa Jodar clash with Pablo Carreno Busta, who is 15 years his senior.

Another 19-year-old, Mirra Andreeva, will be looking to continue cruising through the draw against Jil Teichmann, while Jakub Mensik and Andrey Rublev are last up.
