23:35 CET - What a win for Aryna Sabalenka! The world number one has moved into the Madrid Open final by bringing an end to Elina Svitolina's 11-match winning streak, beating the Ukrainian 6-3, 7-5 in just over 90 minutes.
Sabalenka and Coco Gauff will battle it out for the title.
22:00 CET - Lorenzo Musetti's exceptional tournament has continued with a dominant 6-4, 6-3 win over Gabriel Diallo to book his place in the Madrid semi-finals, where he will face a blockbuster clash against Jack Draper.
19:11 CET - Jack Draper's stunning season continues! The Indian Wells champion has moved into the semi-finals with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Matteo Arnaldi, and has also moved into the top five in the world rankings as a result.
The Brit has arguably been the men's player of the year thus far.
17:25 CET - In something of a surprise result, teenage sensation and Miami champion Jakub Mensik has been beaten 3-6, 7-6, 6-2 by Argentina number one Francisco Cerundolo, who will face Ruud in the final four.
17:15 CET - What a win for Coco Gauff! The American has just made a serious statement, smashing Iga Swiatek 6-1, 6-1 in barely an hour to reach the Madrid Open final!
Beating Swiatek is always impressive but especially when it's on clay, a surface on which the Pole has absolutely dominated over the years. Gauff is just the second player to lose fewer than five games in a clay-court match against the four-time French Open champion.
14:57 CET - Casper Ruud is the first men's semi-finalist with the 14th seed beating Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-5. With it coming after his win over Taylor Fritz, this is turning into an excellent tournament for him.
His next match will be the 40th semi-final of his career and the 30th on clay. He loves the red stuff.
13:10 CET - Play has started in Madrid with Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev facing off in the first men's quarter-final.
