Tallon Griekspoor praised his service game after beating Corentin Moutet in the Mallorca Championships final to grab his first ATP Tour title since 2023.

The 28-year-old Griekspoor beat Moutot 7-5, 7-6 (3) to win his first tournament since the 2023 Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. It was the Dutchman's first tournament since his abdominal injury.

After the final at a hot Mallorca Country Club, where temperatures rose to 36 degrees Celsius, Griekspoor said his nerves weren't making things much better.

"It was super warm again, I guess when you have some nerves it feels twice as warm as it is," the Dutch champion said directly after his victory, which completed Griekspoor's quartet of Mallorca wins without a dropped set.

"The wind was saving both of us a little bit. It was a hot, huge battle, and I'm happy with the result."

The Haarlem-born player was very aggressive in his net play, winning 32 of a staggering 47 net points, but he praised a different element of his game in his post-match interview.

"I think I served great in the tiebreak and the whole match. He made it very difficult for me; finals are not easy to play."

Tweeners and drop shots

Griekspoor also shared words of praise for Moutet, who showed signs of severe frustration throughout the match and smashed a racket.

"Corentin, it's good to see you in the later stages of the tournament, to not only see your highlights of tweeners and drop shots, but actually making deep tournament runs, so congratulations on your week here."

Tallon Griekspoor will have one day of rest before starting his Wimbledon campaign on Monday, when Eastbourne finalist Jenson Brooksby will be his opponent in the first round of the Grand Slam.
