It’s another star-studded day of action in Monte Carlo, with Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic both beginning their campaigns at the prestigious Masters 1000 event.

20:45 CET - In the final match of the day in Monte Carlo, ninth seed Daniil Medvedev has beaten Alexandre Muller to advance to the third round. The Russian was made to work for the win, clinching it 7-6, 5-7, 6-2.

Next up for Medvedev is a tricky meeting with eighth seed Alex de Minaur in what might be the match of the third round.

19:17 CET - Grigor Dimitrov has carried his strong recent form at Miami onto the clay courts of Monte Carlo, with the Bulgarian recovering from a set down to battle past Valentin Vacherot 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

18:25 CET - A hard-fought win for Alexei Popyrin in Monte Carlo as he edges past 14th seed Frances Tiafoe in three sets, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to secure a third-round place.

17:37 CET - Novak Djokovic is out in Monte Carlo. The third seed has been dumped out by Chile's Alejandro Tabilo 6-3, 6-4 in just under 90 minutes in what is probably the biggest shock of the day so far.

17:08 CET - Casper Ruud has wasted no time in sealing his place in the third round, with the fourth seed easing past Roberto Bautista-Agut in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.

16:43 CET - Eighth seed Alex de Minaur bounced back from dropping the opening set to outclass Tomas Machac 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 in one hour and 49 minutes.

15:51 CET - Carlos Alcaraz has battled back from a first-set wobble to beat Francisco Cerundolo in the second round. The second seed eventually won the tie 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.

15:31 CET - Andrey Rublev has come through a tough tussle against Gael Monfils to make it into the third round. The world number nine and former champion in Monte Carlo won the match in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(2)

14:44 CET - Arthur Fils is safely through to the next round in Monte Carlo, with the 12th seed sweeping aside Flavio Cobolli in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

The less said about the Frenchman's celebration, the better, however... 

14:27 CET - After a three-hour battle, Nuno Borges has booked his place in the last-16, outlasting Pedro Martinez 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4.

13:50 CET - Lorenzo Musetti recovered from a dreadful opening set to see off the challenge of Jiri Lehecka, with the Italian coming through 1-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Daniel Altmaier has also sealed his spot in the third round after a 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 triumph over experienced Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

13:08 CET - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is today's first winner at the Monte-Carlo Masters, with the Spaniard battling through a tough opening set to defeat Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-6(2), 6-3.

11:12 CET - Play is now underway in Monte Carlo, with Lorenzo Musetti and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina among the players out on court.

09:47 CET - It promises to be an exciting day ahead, as Carlos Alcaraz begins his campaign against Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo and Novak Djokovic takes on Alejandro Tabilo, while Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev and Casper Ruud are also in action.

However, first up, 13th seed Lorenzo Musetti faces Jiri Lehecka in an intriguing clash at 11:00 CET.
