18:23 CET - Jannik Sinner has been forced to retire in Shanghai early on the third set against Tallon Griekspoor after limping around the court for most of the final set.
One person's setback is someone else's opportunity and the rest of the field has just that now the world number two is out.
15:23 CET - Fourth seed Novak Djokovic is through to the final 16 in Shanghai after surviving a first-set wobble to beat Yannick Hanfmann in hot and humid conditions 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
The Serbian great will next face Spain's Jaume Munar.
14:56 CET - Amanda Anisimova has beaten Linda Noskova to claim the China Open title in Beijing!
The in-form American and US Open finalist, overcame her Czech opponent 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in what was a topsy-turvy final.
It is just Anisimova's second WTA 1000 title - she also won the Qatar Open earlier this year - and it adds further gloss to a breakout season for her, in which she has reached two Grand Slam finals, along with those two titles won.

14:27 CET - Valentin Vacherot has advanced to the final 16 at the Shanghai Master after his third-round opponent, Tomas Machac, retired from their match. Vacherot was leading 6-0, 3-1.
13:13 CET - Jaume Munar has come through a battle at the Shanghai Masters to win 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 against Yoshihito Nishioka.
11:45 CET - It is almost final time in Beijing! Amanda Anisimova goes into this clash as the big favourite after a fantastic 2025, but her opponent, Linda Noskova, will be well up for the occasion in her first WTA tour final. Either way, this is a final not to miss.

10:05 CET - One of the best performances of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard's young career sees the Frenchman stun fifth seed Taylor Fritz. After winning some outrageous winners and finding a way to stay in gruelling rallies, Perricard found his way to a brilliant 6-4, 7-5 win against the American.
08:20 CET - Holger Rune is the next man through to the fourth round after a dominant 6-4, 6-4 victory against a strong opponent in Ugo Humbert.
07:20 CET - The first match of the day in Shanghai has finished prematurely as David Goffin was forced to retire after just three games, meaning his opponent, Gabriel Diallo, advances into the fourth round.
