It's the day of the first major finals of 2025 with titles up for grabs across Oceania and Asia and a number of big names in with a chance of winning them.

12:47 CET - That's that for today and for the first week of the 2025 campaign, which saw some big names live up to expectations and some surprise packages pull off upsets.

The run-up to the Australian Open will continue in the early hours of the morning with tournaments getting underway in Adelaide, Auckland and Hobart, and we'll be back to bring you coverage of the matches there at around 07:00 CET. See you then!

12:16 CET - USA are the 2024 United Cup champions! Taylor Fritz (27) has sealed the title for his nation with a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 win over Poland's Hubert Hurkacz (27).

It's the second time that the US have won the tournament.

11:32 CET - It's a day to remember for Alexandre Muller (27), who has beaten Kei Nishikori (35) 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 to win the first ATP title of his career.

10:43 CET - We unfortunately have our second retirement of the day with Reilly Opelka (27) being forced to pull out of his match while 4-1 down due to back issues, meaning Jiri Lehecka (23) is the Brisbane men's champion.

Things are going better for fellow American Fritz though, who leads Hurkacz 6-4, 2-2.

09:38 CET - Over to Taylor Fritz (27), who can seal the United Cup title for his nation with a win over Hubert Hurkacz (27) - follow the clash here.

Also getting underway is the Hong Kong final between Kei Nishikori (35) and Alexandre Muller (27), and the Brisbane final between Reilly Opelka (27) and Jiri Lehecka (23).

09:33 CET - What a win for Coco Gauff (20)! The American produced her very best tennis to beat Iga Swiatek (23) 6-4, 6-4, fighting back from a break down in the second set to put the United States on the brink of glory.

09:30 CET - Aryna Sabalenka (26) is the Brisbane champion! The world number one overcame a valiant effort from Polina Kudermetova (21) to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and secure her first title of 2025.

09:01 CET - We're heading to a decider in Brisbane with Sabalenka fighting back to win the second set 6-3 and level things up.

08:31 CET - An upset is brewing in Brisbane with Kudermetova winning the opening set 6-4

In Sydney meanwhile, Gauff has taken the lead with the same scoreline.

08:07 CET - Two more big finals have just started in Australia with Coco Gauff (20) and Iga Swiatek (23) facing off in the first tie of the United Cup title decider between USA and Poland and Aryna Sabalenka (26) going up against Polina Kudermetova (21) in Brisbane.

08:00 CET - Hello and welcome to Flashscore's coverage of today's finals!

One has already been played and it was a heartbreaking one with Naomi Osaka (27) looking set to win her first title since 2021 in Auckland after winning the first set 6-4, but abdominal issues forced her to retire immediately after that, handing the title to Clara Tauson (22).
