After two weeks of thrills and spills, it is the French Open's final weekend and first up is the small matter of world number two Coco Gauff against world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the women's decider this afternoon.

18:10 CET - After coming out of the blocks flying, Sabalenka's level dropped at the back end of the first set and never came back.

Gauff, though, did deliver an impressive performance, showing great mental resilience and producing some stunning winners at vital times.

It is a second grand slam title for the young American who is starting to establish herself as the player to beat on the women's tour.

You feel pretty safe saying it won't be her last Grand Slam, too. A hugely successful career at the top of tennis is coming Gauff's way.

Check out the match report here.

18:05 CET - COCO GAUFF HAS WON HER MAIDEN FRENCH OPEN!

A thrilling final has come to a close, and the better play on the day is victorious. In a mistake-prone final, it was a story of who made the fewest mistakes that decided the outcome in the end.

Sabalenka, though, is never one to not fancy herself, and the powerful Belarusian came through a much tougher semi-final than Gauff as she found a way past holder Iga Swiatek in three sets.

Sabalenka has looked the better of the two so far, and the world number one will go into the match as the favourite. However, Gauff has found a way to make it this far and played her best tennis of the tournament in the semi-finals, so rule her out at your peril.
