07:28 CET - We've had our final result of Day One at Flushing Meadows, and it's a big one, with former men's champion Daniil Medvedev losing in five sets to Benjamin Bonzi.
Having been dumped out by the Frenchman at Wimbledon earlier in the summer, a struggling Medvedev was unable to recover from two sets down, ultimately falling short in a 6-3, 7-5, 6-7(3), 0-6, 6-4 defeat.
05:25 CET - Last year's finalist Jessica Pegula is into the second round after she beats Mayar Sherif 6-0, 6-4. After winning the first set in 22 minutes, the fourth seed went down 4-1 in the second. However, she turned things around, winning the final five games to advance.
04:55 CET - Another match that went the distance is complete, as Brandon Nakashima finds his way past Jesper de Jong 6-2, 6-7 (5), 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7).
04:30 CET - Marcos Giron survives a five-set thriller as he edges Mariano Navone 6-0, 7-5, 4-6, 5-7, 6-4 in a match that lasted over four hours.
03:45 CET - Four-time US Open champion Novak Djokovic battled through a tight match to commence the night session on Athur Ashe. In the end, the world number seven beats Learner Tien 6-1, 7-6 (3), 6-2.
03:15 CET - It is a straight sets win for Victoria Azarenka as she defeats Hina Inoue 7-6 (0), 6-4.
02:45 CET - Jasmine Paolini progresses as she needs an hour and a half to get the better of Destanee Aiava 6-2, 7-6 (4).
01:45 CET - Belinda Bencic is moving on in the US Open. The Swiss number one gets past qualifier Shuai Zhang 6-3, 6-3.
00:50 CET - Emma Navarro survives a tricky first round clash with Yafan Wang, winning 7-6 (9), 6-3 in just under two hours.
00:40 CET - Pablo Carreno-Busta closes out a straight set 7-6 (7), 6-4, 6-2 win over qualifier and fellow countryman Pablo Llama Ruiz to qualify for the second round.
00:20 CET - Lulu Sun is into the second round in Flushing Meadows as she battles past Camila Osorio 6-4, 2-6, 6-0.
23:50 CET - Jiri Lehecka has fought from a set down to beat Croat Borna Coric in three hours and a quarter, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1.
23:00 CET - 37-year-old Adrian Mannarino has dumped out Tallon Griekspoor at the US Open, beating the 29th seed 7-5, 6-4, 6-0 to move through.
22:33 CET - Young starlet Alexandra Eala has just won an absolute epic at the US Open, knocking out 14th seed Clara Tauson after a remarkable final set comeback, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(11).
The 20-year-old was 5-1 down in the final set before reeling off five straight games, before she finally sealed the win on her fifth match point in the tiebreak. A stunning result for Eala, but Tauson will be kicking herself with the way she threw that away.
Caty McNally and Tomas Machac have also both progressed to the second round.
22:18 CET - Serbian Olga Danilovic has suffered a shock defeat in New York, falling to Moyuka Uchijima in a three-hour and 12-minute thriller, 7-6(2), 4-6, 7-6(11).
22:13 CET - World number one and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka didn't have it all her own way in the opening set, but the Belarusian still had far too much quality as she claimed a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Rebeka Masarova to begin her title defence.
21:21 CET - After becoming the first player from Indonesia to qualify for a Grand Slam main draw since 2004, Janice Tjen has now just pulled off a seismic upset, beating 24th seed Veronika Kudermetova 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. She faces Emma Raducanu next.
21:08 CET - Last year's runner-up, Taylor Fritz, had to overcome a difficult first set to claim a 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 win over American wildcard Emilio Nava.
20:22 CET - The in-form home favourite Ben Shelton and former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova are the next names through, both claiming straight-set wins to progress through to the next round.
20:05 CET - Former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez is beginning to return to form and has won dominantly in the first round of the 2025 edition, beating fellow Canadian Rebecca Marino 6-2, 6-1.
19:40 CET - Talented young player Jakub Mensik has won convincingly in the first round as he defeats Nicolas Jarry 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, 6-4.
A second young Czech player has booked their place in the second round as qualifier Tereza Valentova has edged to a three-set victory against Italian Lucia Bronzetti, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
19:12 CET - Despite a battle in both sets, home player McCartney Kessler has booked her place in the second round at Flushing Meadows with a 7-5, 7-5 victory against Magda Linette.
18:42 CET - The first male winner at the 2025 US Open goes to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who won 6-1, 6-1, 6-2 against Alexander Shevchenko.
18:20 CET - Emma Raducanu is through to the second round in next to no time after an incredibly dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory against Japan's Ena Shibahara.
That is Raducanu's first win at the US Open since she won the title in 2021...

The 2025 tournament gets underway at Flushing Meadows from 17:00 CET with Czechia's exciting teenager Jakub Mensik in early ATP action against Chile's Nicolas Jarry.
On the WTA side of the draw, 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu takes on Japan's Ena Shibahara in the first set of matches.
First up on the famous Arthur Ashe centre court at 18:00 CET is home favourite Ben Shelton as he takes on Ignacio Buse, before world number one and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka takes centre-stage after .
Then, in the evening session, tennis royalty Novak Djokovic faces home player Learner Tien, whilst Jessica Pegula, fresh off her impressive run at the new US Open mixed doubles, takes on Mayar Sherif.
