Alabama's prestigious football program will continue to meet expectations after it landed five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin on Sunday.

Griffin was rated the No. 2 linebacker and the No. 8 overall prospect of the 2026 class, according to 24/7 Sports.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker out of Gainesville, Georgia, narrowed his selections down to Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, and Texas before ultimately choosing the Crimson Tide.

Alabama now leads the nation with three five-star recruits - the others being cornerback Jorden Edmonds and running back Ezavier Crowell.

During his sophomore season in high school, Griffin earned Georgia Region 8-6A First-Team honours after finishing the year with 54 tackles and 15 sacks.

He wasn't able to replicate the same numbers during his junior years after only playing in eight games due to injury, but still managed to rack up 43 tackles and six sacks.
