The UAFA (Union of Arab Football Associations) has officially renewed its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, it confirmed in a statement.

The 22 UAFA members gathered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the 81st Board of Directors meeting.

During the meeting, the members discussed the position of FIFA President Gianni Infantino's position, who could count on widespread approval.

"At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors of UAFA welcomed the recent steps taken by FIFA to ensure continued collaboration with national, regional, and continental football associations and to strengthen cooperation and joint efforts on decisions aimed at advancing football worldwide," a statement on the website said.

The UAFA continued by extending its support for the under-fire Swiss executive.

"The UAFA also reaffirmed its support and appreciation, in the coming period, for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who over a decade strengthened unity across the global football community, further developed and grew the game, and expanded its global reach in a way that serves the interests of all stakeholders and meets the aspirations of players and fans around the world."

Infantino has faced a world of scrutiny after his failed 'FIFA Forward Enterprise' proposal following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Several FAs have withdrawn their support for Infantino, with UEFA, AFC, and CONCACAF preparing to present an opposing candidate in the upcoming FIFA elections in March.

UAFA is the governing body of football in the Arab League and is made up of 22 members: 12 from Asia (Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Yemen) and 10 from Africa (Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia).

Infantino has historically gotten consistent support from Arab countries. Morocco, co-host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, was reportedly offered the World Cup final in exchange for support for the scrutinised president.
