The 22-year-old centre-back has joined Fenerbahce on a four-year contract in a deal worth €12 million, according to L’Équipe, with Nice also retaining a 10% sell-on clause.
Oppong Peprah arrives in Istanbul after an impressive first season in France, having made 43 appearances for Nice across competitions during the 2025/26 campaign, including 29 Ligue 1 appearances.
The Ghanaian defender joined Nice from Swedish side IFK Norrkoping in 2025 for around €2.7 million and quickly established himself as an important member of the French club's defence.
Now, just one year later, he has secured another major move, joining one of Turkey's biggest clubs.
Speaking at his unveiling, Oppong Peprah made it clear that he is eager to begin his new adventure.
“I am very happy to be with this family. I just can’t wait to get started. I’m so happy to be here.”
One of the factors that helped convince Oppong Peprah to choose Fenerbahce was the opportunity to speak to fellow Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku.
Djiku previously spent two seasons at Fenerbahçe between 2023 and 2025 and knows the demands of playing for the Istanbul club. His positive assessment of the club gave Oppong Peprah another reason to embrace the move.
“I spoke with Alexander Djiku. Hearing nice things from someone who played here had an impact on my transfer.”
Djiku had already praised his compatriot following the transfer, describing him as a good player who enjoyed a strong season at Nice and backing him to succeed in Turkey.
The move to Fenerbahce represents another important step in Oppong Peprah's rapid development.
He began his career at the Attram de Visser Soccer Academy in Ghana before moving to Sweden, where he joined Norrköping in 2023. After loan spells with GIF Sundsvall, he earned a move to Nice and made an immediate impact in Ligue 1.
His performances also earned him recognition with the Ghana national team, and he was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2026 World Cup.
The Ghanaian views this new challenge in Turkey as another opportunity to improve.
“I always love challenges in my life. For me, the most important thing in my life is to constantly get even better.”
“I think I can improve further in terms of my long balls and in reading the game better,” he added.
Oppong Peprah will hope to make his debut for Fenerbahce on Sunday when they travel to face Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
