Defending champions Metz had no trouble preserving their perfect record in the women's handball Champions League tournament when they put Danish outsiders Nykobing Falster to the sword with a convincing 36-25 win.

The duo of left wing Chloe Valentini and centre back Kristina Jorgensen combined for seven goals in the opening 11 minutes, to get Metz on their way twowards claiming a 9-3 lead.

Nykobing were not going to surrender and scored three unanswered goals to cut the deficit, but the title holders from France responded with their own 3-0 run to pull away at 12-6.

Danish team's goalkeeper Anne Christine Bossen kept the damage to a minimum by producing eight saves in the first half, but Metz held the game under control to create a commanding seven-goal lead after 30 minutes.

Metz rotated their squad in the second half but still had plenty of quality on the bench as Lena Grandveau and Lylou Borg rose to prominence helping their team further extend the gap.

Sabrina Novotná did well between the posts, and between minutes 42 and 48, the French team scored six unanswered goals to establish a double-digit lead (30-19). Nykobing's Mia Svele became the top goalscorer of the match with nine goals, but Metz did better as a team and claimed a well-deserved victory.
