The Buffalo Sabres started the night with a 5-2 victory following three Owen Power assists, with four points from Kirill Kaprizov leading the Minnesota Wild to a big 4-1 win.

Buffalo Sabres 5-2 Columbus Blue Jackets

The Buffalo Sabres (8-5-3) have found momentum in recent times, and against the Columbus Blue Jackets (7-8-0) on Friday, they managed to find their top gear offensively, showing what we saw from them down the stretch in 2025/26. This time, it was Owen Power (3 assists), Josh Norris (2 goals) and Jack Quinn (1 goal, 1 assist) that led the way for a red-hot Sabres team, as they dominated early, heading into the third period holding a 5-1 lead.

The Blue Jackets tried their hardest to battle back through a Zach Werenski third period goal, but they couldn't handle Buffalo's offense as the Sabres tallied 37 shots, and with Jet Greaves allowing 5 goals in that time, the Sabres cruised to a 5-2 victory.

Minnesota Wild 4-1 San Jose Sharks

The Minnesota Wild (12-3-3) have been one of the NHL's best teams throughout the early stages of the 2026/27 season, and with a win over the San Jose Sharks (7-10-1) on Friday, they sit at 5-0-1 at home, taking points in all six games on home ice. To the surprise of no one, it was Kirill Kaprizov that got things going with his 16th goal of the season in the first period, and after three assists in the game, he's up to 30 points on the season.

Once again for San Jose, it was the lack of depth scoring that came back to haunt them, as the team managed just the one Macklin Celebrini goal, falling to 4-5-1 away from home as their struggles in what was meant to be an exciting season continues.

Anaheim Ducks 5-3 Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames (7-9-1) have been rolling as of late, and after three goals in the first period with two points to Zayne Parekh, it appears as though they were set up for another big victory on home ice on the back of five straight wins at home. However, the Anaheim Ducks had other plans, as they battled back to make it 3-2 in the second period before rattling off three straight in the final frame to make it a 2-0-0 trip through Alberta following a win in Edmonton on Thursday night.

It was a great showing in this one for veteran Ville Husso, who entered the game in the second period and shut the Flames down, stopping all 10 shots that he saw as the Ducks got multiple points from Mikael Granlund, Leo Carlsson and Beckett Sennecke as they came back to win 5-3.
