The moment Germany lost to Paraguay on penalties in the last 32 of the World Cup, it was clear to most people that the Julian Nagelsmann era with the national team was over. This was confirmed in the following weeks. And his successor? None other than the highly experienced Jurgen Klopp, who will return to coaching after a two-year break.

According to the official announcement, the famous coach has signed a contract until 2030.

However, he didn't sit idle during his break. After a successful stint at Liverpool, where he spent nine long years, he worked as the global sporting director for teams under the Red Bull group.

Now, Klopp is returning to coaching, but for the first time ever, he will lead a national team.

In the past, he managed Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool. He made his biggest name with the English club - winning the Champions League in 2019 and adding a Premier League title a year later.

"From the very beginning, this was our dream solution," said German FA president Bernd Neuendorf, adding: "Personal talks with him convinced us that he is the right person for the job."

Now, his task will be to bring the German national team back among the elite, as the team hasn't achieved any major success since winning the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. This year at the World Cup, they were eliminated in the first knockout round, and in 2018 and 2022, they didn't even make it out of the group stage.
