Omar Ingi Magnusson was SC Magdeburg's top goalscorer with 11 goals. The match was originally scheduled for December but was brought forward because the arena was already booked for another event. Magdeburg take command
After an even opening, Magdeburg pulled away from the Zebras in the first half. The visitors repeatedly came up against the hosts' strong defense. Shortly before the buzzer, defensive specialist Antonio Serradilla extended the lead to make it 15-9 at halftime, to the delight of the fans.
