15:15 CET - The clash between Sinner and Fils is just 45 minutes away, so let's take a look at their respective routes to the finals.

The Italian didn't get off to the best start, losing a set in a fairly unconvincing opener with Benjamin Bonzi, but he hasn't dropped another one since then. However, he was tested by young Spanish sensation Rafael Jodar, with the gruelling second set of their clash lasting for one hour and 13 minutes.

Fils' biggest challenge came in his opening match against Ignacio Buse, with the Frenchman barely surviving a battle that consisted of two tiebreaks and lasted for just under three hours. He's seen off the rest of his opponents without too much trouble, with his straight-sets win over Miami finalist Jiri Lehecka particularly impressive.

12:30 CET - First up, the two most in-form players in men's tennis will do battle, with world number one Jannik Sinner taking on French talent Arthur Fils.

Sinner is on a simply remarkable run, with the world number one winning each of his last 21 matches and each of his last 26 at Masters 1000 tournaments. Across those 26 clashes, he's dropped just two sets.

That undoubtedly makes him the favourite for his clash with Fils, but the Frenchman is enjoying quite the year himself. He's won each of his last nine, and has the Barcelona title along with a runners-up spot in the Doha final to his name in 2026. Aside from Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, he's probably been the best men's player of the season.

They're not familiar foes, only meeting once back in 2023, with Sinner winning that clash in straight sets. This is the first time that they're facing one another on clay.

Neither have been beaten on the surface so far in 2026, but that will change this afternoon.

12:10 CET - Hello and welcome to Flashscore's live coverage of the men's semi-finals at the 2026 Madrid Open!

Just four men remain standing in the Spanish capital, and today, they'll fight for the right to return to the court on Sunday and attempt to claim one of the biggest prizes in tennis.
