This now marks each of their last four meetings being decided by eight points or less. The Rebels will be celebrating for the rest of the season after the controversy surrounding Kiffin leaving the school for LSU just weeks ahead of last year's College Football Playoffs.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss finished with 363 passing yards on 33-of-48 passing with three total touchdowns and one interception. He now moves to 10-0 all-time at home.
LSU QB Sam Leavitt put up 221 total yards (158 passing), one rushing touchdown, one passing touchdown, and a crucial final-drive interception.
Dilin Jones (#7 LSU) led all rushers with 106 yards on 23 carries with one touchdown. Traylon Ray (#8 Ole Miss) led all receivers with 115 yards on seven receptions and a touchdown.

After both teams went three-and-out to start the game, it was all Ole Miss in the first quarter as the Rebels wanted to make a statement early on. They quickly went up 10-0 thanks to a 37-yard field goal from Lucas Carneiro and a five-yard rushing touchdown from Kewan Lacy.
It marked 12 consecutive games in which Lacy has scored at least one touchdown.
The Ole Miss beatdown continued its way into the second quarter.
Chambliss capped off an 11-play, 92-yard drive with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Ray for the team's third straight scoring drive, giving Ole Miss a 17-0 lead with 9:49 left in the half.
Chambliss was 15-for-19 passing with 173 yards at that point. Ole Miss had outgained LSU 214-29.
LSU had two first downs leading up to that score. On the ensuing drive, they picked five alone en route to their first score of the game.
The Tigers capped off a 75-yard drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown from Dilin Jones to cut the lead to 17-7 with 1:57 to go in the half.
And that was too much time, as two-minute drill master Chambliss took Ole Miss down the field for another touchdown, this time for a 20-yarder to Deuce Alexander that put the Rebels up 24-7 before halftime.
Chambliss went 8-for-8 on the final drive and 21-for-27 with 248 yards in the first half alone.
The best play of the first half came during the first quarter when Chambliss found Ray in double coverage down the sideline for a 36-yard gain.
Ole Miss holds off LSU's second-half surge
Then things began to flip in the second half.
After forcing an LSU punt following their third three-and-out on the night, Ole Miss turned it over three plays later thanks to Ja'Keem Jackson's first career interception.
LSU quickly turned it around and scored their second touchdown of the game after Leavitt rushed for four yards to make it 24-14.
Things kept going LSU's way in the second half. On the ensuing drive, Carneiro had what some consider the worst field goal attempt of his career after missing what usually is a 37-yard chip shot for him.
LSU took advantage and found paydirt for the third time in the game.
Running a no-huddle offense, Leavitt hit Winston Watkins Jr. in the corner of the end zone for a stellar 26-yard touchdown pass. It marked Watkins' second touchdown this season and his first against his old team.
Ole Miss was held to an interception, a missed field goal, and a punt, with a total of 48 yards in the entirety of the third quarter, while LSU had two touchdowns and 99 total yards.
With 14:21 left in the game, LSU's Trey'Dez Green went down with a brutal knee injury after a big gain for a first down. Green was eventually helped off the field by team trainers, barely able to put weight on his right leg.
LSU wouldn't be denied from putting up more points on the scoreboard as Scott Starzyk made it a 24-24 game thanks to a 23-yard field goal with 11:21 remaining.
But 13 plays later, Ole Miss retook the lead after Chambliss scored a 14-yard rushing touchdown off a read option. The Rebels converted a two-point conversion to take the 32-24 lead with 6:14 to go.
On the ensuing drive, LSU reached the Ole Miss 25-yard line before the Rebels were called for a brutal pass interference that put the Tigers on their 10.
But on 4th and goal with 1:03 remaining, Leavitt tossed his first interception as the Rebels secured their third win of the season, improving to 3-0.
Meanwhile, LSU drops to 2-1 and now head back home for a game against Texas A&M.
