Schroder moved to Real Madrid this summer for an undisclosed fee, but for an amount the selling club Hacken described as a world record for women's football.
The 19-year-old forward had been on the radar for the elite clubs after impressing for Hacken as they won the inaugural UEFA Women's Europa Cup in April, thanks largely to Schroder scoring all four goals in their 4-2 aggregate win over fellow Swedish side Hammarby in the final.
And now the teenager has been named as one of five nominees for the Women's Young Talent of the Year award, with the winner announced at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London on 26th October.
Also nominated for the award are Veerle Buurman (Netherlands & Chelsea), Vicky Lopez (Spain & Barcelona), Clara Serrajordi (Spain & Barcelona) and Lily Yohannes (USA & Lyon).
On the sidelines helping Hacken and Schroder to that Europa Cup win was coach Elena Sadiku, who guided the club to the Damallsvenskan title in 2025 as well as their first European crown, and Getingarna are on course to retain the league title this year, currently sitting top of the table.
Those achievements have earnt Sadiku a nomination for the Women's Coach of the Year award, where she will be up against another Swede, Andree Jeglertz, who won the Women's Super League with Manchester City, ending a decade without a league title for the English side.
The Swedes will be up against Jonatan Giraldez (Lyon), Nils Nielsen (Japan national team) and Pere Romeu (Barcelona) for the award, making Sadiku the only female on the list.
