Bo Svensson, who replaced Jacob Neestrup shortly before the end of last season, will be without a number of his most prolific players when he takes charge of FC Copenhagen for his first European match as coach of FC Copenhagen on Thursday.
Gabriel Pereira and Thomas Delaney are serving suspensions, while Magnus Mattsson, Rodrigo Huescas, Viktor Dadason, Dominik Sarapata, and Hunor Németh are sidelined by injuries for the first leg against the Ukrainian side Polissya.
Elias AchouriElias Achouri is staying behind to explore a potential transfer, and Birger Meling has remained at home with his pregnant wife.
"It is obvious to everyone that we are missing several players; in addition to the injured ones, Gabriel and Delaney are suspended, and Birger has stayed home because his wife is heavily pregnant," Bo Svensson said on the club website.
"But we are focusing on the players we have available and will field the ones—whether from the start or during the match - who we believe are best suited to the task tomorrow, and then we will see what the situation looks like for the upcoming matches."
The match, which will be played in Kosice, Slovakia, due to the war in Ukraine, will start at 20:00 CET.
