PSV have been dealt another blow as striker Alassane Plea was ruled out for the remainder of the calendar year, manager Peter Bosz confirmed.

After finally returning from a year-long knee injury, Alassane Plea sustained an injury during training in the week following his season debut against Fortuna Sittard.

The Frenchman has not featured for PSV since and has now undergone surgery that rules him out for the rest of 2026, manager Peter Bosz told Eindhovens Dagblad.

Plea's injury is the latest setback in an injury-riddled saga for the reigning champions. American striker Ricardo Pepi was ruled out for several weeks, Austrian midfielder Paul Wanner returned from international duty with a foot injury, and defender Lutsharel Geertruida withdrew from the Netherlands squad earlier this week, though he's not expected to be out for weeks, Bosz said.

With Sam Lammers also unfit, PSV currently do not have a fit striker in the senior squad. Midfielders Guus Til and Sven Mijnans are expected to fill the role for now.

After losing 3-2 against FC Twente before the international break, PSV dropped down to third in the Eredivisie. The Eindhoven giants resume their domestic campaign on Friday, October 9th, with a home game against Heerenveen.
