Friday night was set to be a critical Game 4 in the ALCS between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians, but now, it's officially been postponed.

The NLCS wrapped up on Thursday night with the Milwaukee Brewers finishing off a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and on Friday, the ALCS was set to see a critical Game 4 take place in Cleveland.

Coming into the game, the Guardians were leading the series 2-1, and with the home field advantage, they were hoping to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

However, weather in the Cleveland area was no cooperative, and after plenty of hope that Game 4 could go ahead, the Guardians organization took to social media to announce that the game had officially been postponed.

Game 5 was supposed to take place on Saturday, but now, that will be Game 4, with Game 5 now slated to take place on Sunday, with the Guardians still having the opportunity to win back-to-back games and reach their first World Series since 2016.

As for the Rays, this shouldn't change much about their approach, and while any change could be detrimental to the approach of a team, given their resilience throughout the year, there's no doubting that both teams are in a great place to overcome this change.

The pitching matchup slated for Friday was set to be All-Star Nick Martinez taking on a Guardians bullpen opened by Shawn Armstrong, and as of right now, that's expected to be the matchup when Game 4 takes place on Saturday.

First pitch for that matchup is set for 8PM ET on Saturday, and with the entire series still hanging in the balance, it will be perhaps the most important matchup in what has been an exciting, competitive ALCS through the first three games of the series.
